After a long hiatus, I have gathered enough emptiness to decide whether to hide or to seek. I’ve been an Adam for so long, thinking that I can hide from God and His word. Now the lack of perfection in this world pushes me to seek perfection.(which by now I realize now more and more can only be found in God). As I was buying the church’s drums’ part replacements, I went on a detour to the PCBS bookstore to involuntarily(doesn’t make sense huh?) quench my long reading drought.(Caused by a the excitement of a new abode and the pseudo-busyness that a laptop gives). I stumbled upon The One Year Bible and I figured this was a good model to start with if I was ever going to start to read the Bible again. This excites me more to think that instead of the mainstream devotionals like Our Daily Bread I get something that has no interpretation. Because when interpretation is already at hand, it will most likely hinder me to dig deeper or seek in a different light.

One of my church friends told me they had a “Journaling” session last Sunday. According to my friend, this is how “Journaling” works: Everyday write why a certain bible verse that strikes you the most then write down a doable application and pray for it. After seven days, meet-up with other peeps who are “Journaling” to keep things fresh. I’m going to try this model for now and see how it goes. I live on my own most of the time and so whenever a family member gets sick or gets into trouble, I am very anxious. App: Back in my youth days, I am very indifferent to the worries of my parents so long as I was enjoying what I was doing. Today, I know what a text(SMS) means for my workmates who are waiting for me or to post on a Wall of someone on the day of their birthday. Prayer: Now that I have seen, I am responsible. Faith without deeds is dead. |
